Site Visit 23/11/08

Today we visited the site, to which we made a photographic survey and collected our initial experience and thoughts on the space and the environment surrounding the site.

- There seem to be a divide between the types of housing surrounding the space.

- The space is quite dense but quite, little activity surrounds the space except residential living, a primary (crampton) school and a tibeten buddist center adjacent to a jesus christ church.

- Ideas of new seating and shelter; sheltered seating for public to rest and observe.

- New lighting concept is needed, at night it is dark and empty.

- Uneven landscape, lacks disabled access.

- site needs easier access, more free flowing......

- Trees; good or bad???

- Children, links to school??

- Dogs, place for them to exercise and go toilet. Needs to be fenced.

- Bins, more integration into site.

- Little use of site, seems empty.

- Construct new circulation routes that make for easier and quicker walkthroughs.

- Road lighting, streets need brightening up.

- Space needs opening up, freedom to access.

- Bike racks, secure (lockers)

- Bins are a big problem around the site, how might we fix this.

- Emphasis on school as a must, integration into the area.
